North Korea Destroys Nuclear Reactor Tower, South Korea's MBC Reports
SEOUL, June 27 (Reuters) -- North Korea on Friday brought
down a cooling tower at its Soviet-era nuclear plant, said
South Korean broadcaster MBC, which has a crew at the site.
The move was part of a process of dismantling the state's
nuclear program in return for easing its international
isolation.
Pyongyang on Thursday handed over an account of its nuclear
program, fulfilling a key requirement in six-nation talks on
halting North Korea's nuclear weapon program and creating a
nuclear-free zone on the Korean peninsula.

Intel Said to Be Facing Antitrust Investigation
The Federal Trade Commission has opened a formal antitrust
investigation of Intel, the world's largest maker of computer
microprocessors, for anticompetitive conduct, according to
government officials and lawyers involved. They said that
Intel; its rival, Advanced Micro Devices; and several
computer makers have begun to receive subpoenas from the
commission.

Economy Loses Jobs for Fifth Straight Month
The economy lost 49,000 nonfarm jobs in May, the fifth
straight month of contraction in payrolls, according to the
Labor Department. Analysts had expected a loss of 60,000
jobs. The unemployment rate jumped to 5.5 percent from 5
percent in April.
